Finite keyboard died

Awwww crap the keyboard died. I did drop it just days before it gave up the ghost; maybe that was the reason it died ??? At any rate, I really didn’t use it very much. In fact, I would remove it while reading my Kindle. After only 5 months of use, I’d give this keyboard a pass.

Sorry Finite, your product just didn’t hold up.

Old Kindle E-Readers Must Be Updated By March 22 To Stay Connected

That’s right, go to your old junk drawer and pull out your old Kindle and update it — or else.

Owners of Kindle e-readers can do this the easy way or the hard way. Either way, they’ll need to update their Kindles with an emergency patch from Amazon if they ever want to see new books downloaded to their e-readers again.

Without the update, owners of Kindle e-readers will no longer have access to the Kindle store and other Kindle services. They’ll also be unable to download books from the cloud to their e-readers.

March 22 is the last day to get the update without having to go through added hassle.

Giving away an old Kindle

Many of you have that old kindle collecting dust on a shelf and have thought about giving it to someone or some organization that could use it.  A simple search can pull up organizations like E-Books for troops (http://ebooksfortroops.org/donate-a-kindle/) or the Kindle Classroom Project (http://iserotope.com/kindle-classroom-project/) just to name a couple that distribute used kindles.

Basically, what you want to do is send your information (bookmarks, etc.) to the cloud. You will then perform a factory reset. On some older kindles, the sequence is Home > Menu > Settings > Menu> Reset to Factory Defaults. On the Kindle Fire, the sequence is Settings > Device > Reset to Factory Defaults.  If you are having trouble finding the reset, go to http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200375760#register for another method.

Give the old unused kindle a new life. Wipe away your data with a factory reset and pass the kindle to a friend or family member. It would make a nice gift for someone when bundled with an Amazon gift card.

Use your Kindle Fire to read Gnostalgia

As it turns out, Amazon sells the “Moshi Teraglove Screen Cleaner for all Kindle Fire Models“, however any clean microfiber cloth can do the job.

For the Amazon enthusiast, bookmark this site on YOUR Kindle and follow my posts. I’ll link freebies found on Amazon and give my reviews of ebooks, ereaders, and accessories.
