I was reading a blog called “Masonic Musings” today. The “Old Webmaster” described a conversation that he had had with another Mason about “Esoteric Freemasonry”. “Imagine: wave a magic want over your head or something and call yourself a Mason! I wonder how many people they sucker into THAT one….”
I couldn’t help but laugh. My thought was … imagine; just covering someones head with a hood and leading them around with a Cable Tow and calling them a Mason! I wonder how many people they sucker into THAT one.
Finally, it all boiled down to the same old argument of “my Masonry is better than your Masonry” and that something should be done about this bad/fake masonry. The reason for this intolerant view was based on some truths and some distortions about “Esoteric Freemasonry”. However; the fact that the reasons for this intolerance toward “Esoteric Freemasonry” comes from some distortions is not important. This type of mindset would express intolerance for any reason; age, sex, race, ext.. In all honesty, this type of intolerance needs no reason.
“Watch fobs, lapel badges, and other insignia do not make Masons; neither does the ritual ordain them. Masons are evolved through the self- conscious effort to live up to the highest ideals within themselves…” Manly P. Hall
I guess, in the minds of some brothers, one does not need to met a brother upon the level if you decide that he is not your brother. If he thinks, or looks, or acts differently from the majority is he still your brother? If he calls himself an esoteric master instead of a master mason is he still your brother? I have always believed that diversity improves the craft.
If we can not show tolerance to those who “met upon the level, acted on the plumb, and parted upon the square” we dishonor ourselves and our ancient brothers.

I thought that this was so darn cool. Plantable cards … you read them then plant them. They are embedded with seeds that will sprout.
Love the earth? Me too! My passion for primates led me to study them and in doing so, I learned of their precarious position on earth. So many are endangered because their habitat is being destroyed everyday. That’s why I make green gifts – like plantable paper.
I am a Guild Wars addict. There, I admitted it. I feel so much better.
Anyway, we have a change in staff at Guild Wars. A young lady, Regina Buenaobra is the new Community Manager for ArenaNet, her blog Acid For Blood is linked here. I wish her the best of luck with her new position.
Earthbound Farm – Free Reusable (and recyclable) Earthbound Farm Shopping Tote. There is a short Conservation quiz … I answered (2313422121).
The deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed were caused by the “grossly negligent driving” by both her chauffeur, Henri Paul, and the paparazzi pursuing them, a jury concluded today.
A verdict of unlawful killing was passed down at the High Court after a six-month inquest costing £6 million which heard evidence from more than 250 witnesses.
I wouldn’t want to be in the paparazzi’s shoes. This maybe the beginning of a crackdown on the paparazzi. I, for one, don’t feel sorry for them.
I was saddened to learn of the passing of a legend. Charlton Heston passed away last weekend. I know many will debate and argue about his political positions. All I know is that the man was a fine actor and many of todays actors could learn from him.
Perhaps the best action sequence in motion picture history was his chariot race in “Ben-Hur”.
Heston died Saturday night at 84 …
