Extra coffee please

IMGP2366

No seriously, I need some extra coffee to get going today. I don’t know if it is the heat, my backache, a funky mood, or just some strange alignment of the stars, but I am really out of sorts today — and have been for a couple of days. I hate the summer. At any rate, I have decided to take a sabbatical from my Attention Earthlings blog.

I’ll see how I feel in time, but the blog wasn’t generating discussion among the readers as I had hoped that it would and I felt as though it was pretty much a failure. I guess the last straw was when something broke on the template and I was just simply not in the mood to fix it.

Something old, something new …

I have been enjoying a couple of new games recently, anything to get me out of the heat, Skyforge and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Skyforge is a triple A mmo that is very sharp and professional. I suppose that the best part about Skyforge, for a cheap bastard like me, is that the game is free to play. Check out http://sf.my.com/us and see if the game is something that you might like to try. Skyforge is in open beta. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is an old game that I started some time ago but didn’t finish. The game is a bit glitchy but fun, and I am surprised that it plays on Windows 10.

Failure is not an option — it comes bundled with Windows…

I’ve been using Windows 10 for some time and the latest build 10240 seems to be very solid and stable.  I’ve had some problems with some of the builds but recently Windows has really firmed up. I was very concerned when my Steam games wouldn’t work, but that problem has been resolved and everything that I’ve tested seems to work. The new Windows will be available in a couple of days and you might want to try it on a non-essential computer.  Just between you and me — I prefer Linux.

Remember the words of Sydney Harris, “When I hear somebody sigh, ‘Life is hard,’ I am always tempted to ask, ‘Compared to what?’”
