CROW Awards for 2014

Once again, it is that time of the year when I pick my Creative Reads by Outstanding Writers (CROW awards). This year I cut the number of award winners back. That being said, this list will help you find the perfect stocking-stuffer for that “book nerd” in your life.

Nonfiction:
Arizona’s Back Roads by Julie Ferguson *Review on video* This is a wonderful book taking us on a trip through Arizona’s dry and dusty back roads. Wonderful pictures, compelling stories from History, and unusual sights make Ferguson’s book a must-have.

It Was a Dark and Creepy Night (REVIEW) by Joshua P. Warren. All sorts of allegedly true paranormal stories … Iloved it.

Close Encounters of the Fatal Kind (REVIEW) by Nick Redfern. As you might expect from any Nick Redfern book, it is well researched.

NON-FICTION

The Casebook of Newbury & Hobbes (REVIEW) Okay, I admit it, I love steampunk.

The Doctor and the Dinosaurs (REVIEW) For the steam-pulp lover.

Conculsion:

Those are my picks of books I’ve read this year. I’d also suggest Zombie Housewives of the 80’s. If you have a sharp eye, you may find a picture of yours truly hidden among the pages.
