( 4 1/2 stars out of 5 )
A very humorous and fast-paced sequel to “Once a Spy.” Charlie Clark’s NSA girlfriend is kidnapped and the ransom is an atomic bomb hidden in a washing machine. Charlie’s father, Drummond Clark was a former CIA agent who used the device as a sting to capture terrorists. Drummond’s memory is shaky due to the onset of Alzheimer’s disease.
I liked the fast pace. The chapters are very short, I could knockout a chapter during a TV commercial break. The humor is excellent and I laughed out loud on several occasions. The vibe reminds me of the movie “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.”
I enjoyed this novel without having read “Once a Spy.”. Although, I will certainly add it to my reading list.
I really enjoyed it and I highly recommend it. I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
