(3 stars out of 5)

“Venom and Song” is an entertaining fantasy book written for young adults or for adults that are young at heart. The story is one that is very common for this sort of fiction.

Young inexperienced youths must battle the forces of evil, in this case its the minions of the Spider King. They must unravel mysteries, and elude traps set by the Spider King while learning the true meaning of companionship. Although, it is entertaining, you wont find any truly novel fantasy ideas inside this weighty tome.

While it is a sequel, I was able to pick up on the story quickly. It was very easy to read and the story had a quick pace to it.

I give it a solid 3 stars out of 5.
