(3 stars out of 5)

The Amazons of  the book are nomadic women who live on the edges of society. They use men for breeding and in the past they destroyed any male offspring. Over the past centuries, they have stopped killing the male children and simply abandoned them.

This practice has resulted in tribes of male Amazons who have organised themselves into tribes.  The Amazons live for centuries and keep a youthful appearance until late in life. They also use tattoos to enhance their magical abilities.

I guess that I would have gotten more out of the story if I had read the first book, this is book 2.  As a result, I was often confused about the relationship of some of the characters.

The story centers around Zery as the leader of the Amazons. Will the Amazon remain “status quo” or will they go for “change that we can believe in”.

I can’t help but believe that the Amazon sons will get their own series of books.  All in all, I liked the book and give it a solid 3 stars.

I received “Amazon Queen” courtesy of Pocket Books for review purposes.
