John Justin Mallory is a hardened street-smart detective. However; these are not his streets, these streets have vampires, cat-people, and goblins. This version of Manhattan isn’t Seinfeld its  more like the Addams family.

Mallory is chasing down a vampire. Where do you kind vampires? The Vampire State Building, of course.

Mallory travels with an odd collection of side-kicks: a dragon Scaly Jim, cat-girl Felina, and vampire Bats McGuire. The dialogue between these characters is priceless.

A little fantasy mixed with a detective story and a lot of humor and you have Mike Resnick’s Stalking the Vampire.
