My thoughts of Afterlives of the Rich and Famous by Sylvia Browne

30 Jan

On the death of Rock Hudson, Sylvia Browne wrote:

Like most AIDS victims, Rock was ecstatic to leave his body and come Home to fully restored health and vitality. His mother was the first to greet him, once she made it through a wildly enthusiastic herd of large dogs, led by an Irish setter he especially adored. They were promptly joined by Roddy McDowall, Marlon Brando, and a host of other Hollywood friends, including Montgomery Clift, with whom Rock had always felt a unique connection—Rock says he was among the first on the scene of the tragic car accident that nearly killed and, in the long run, devastated Clift’s life, and it moved Rock to tears to see him thriving again.

Sylvia Browne (2012-01-08T00:01:16+00:00). Afterlives of the Rich and Famous (Kindle Locations 1103-1106). HarperCollins US. Kindle Edition.

While Montgomery Clift (October 17, 1920 – July 23, 1966) had passed before Rock Hudson’s death, neither Roddy McDowall (17 September 1928 – 3 October 1998) nor Marlon Brando(April 3, 1924 – July 1, 2004) had passed away. You would think that Sylvia Browne would have taken a few minutes to look up the death dates in Wikipedia.

I wont hammer this silly book, all I will say is that it is not worth your time. If you are offered this book for free — give it a pass.

My aunt Mayella swears hand on the bible that she seen the image of Elvis in the teapot refletion when she was listening to little less conversation. She is an ecitable sort but has a mystery sense like no other and even communed once with none other than harland sanders, who she met once as a child.

Sylvia Browne is such a fraud. I can’t believe she’s still as popular as she is. I liked how yo handled this. You pointed out why she’s so bad without ever having to bad mouth. You used her ineptitude against her perfectly.

It seems to me to be a case of trading your passion for gold.
